Like others States, Karnataka has succeeded in getting global investment by holding various events but it’s too early to see the fruits of the investment that are being made, said Heavy and Medium Scale Industries Minister R.V. Deshpande.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Mr. Deshpande said that Karnataka was competing with other States in attracting global investors as it’s a necessity for sustained growth of the country.

“We are showcasing our State,” he said. Like other events, the government successfully organised Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and attracted good investments. The effect of the investments will be seen in in the next few years he said.

Mr. Deshpande said that the State government was fighting hard to tackle drought in the State.

He sought an investigation into the allegation of Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayaraddi of scams amounting to Rs. 500 crore in 17 universities in the State.

He dismissed reports that he was a contender for the post of president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.
