Tension in Maaripalla following accident

A road accident near Maaripalla led to tension for a while in Bantwal Rural police station limits on Sunday.

According to the police, two vehicles hit each other and the drivers had a heated argument. One driver, who belonged to one community, hit the other. The injured driver called his supporters to the spot while the other man too called his friends. The police came to the spot to bring the situation under control.

Case registered

The Vitla police registered a case after a PU student was injured following union elections on Saturday. According to the police, II PU student Yogish was elected general secretary. Yogish and his friends came out of the campus and started celebration. Another group objected to this and there was a heated exchange of words. One among the celebrating group was reportedly hit by a stone. He filed a complaint with the police.
