Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Swami of Subrahmanya Mutt and Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Vadiraja Mutt renewed the contacts between the two mutts, which had been broken off due to a misunderstanding between the seers heading these two mutts about 250 years ago, here on Monday.

The contact between the mutts were renewed by their respective seers at the Anantheshwara Temple here in the presence of Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt, Vidyasagara Tirtha Swami of Krishnapur Mutt, Vishwapriya Tirtha Swami of Admar Mutt, Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swami of Kaniyur Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Pejawar Mutt, and Ishapriya Tirtha Swami, junior seer of Admar Mutt.

Earlier, Vidyaprasanna Tirtha of Subrahmanya Mutt seer was received by the other seers and taken from Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple to the Sri Ananteshwara Temple. Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Mutt, who was at the temple, welcomed the Subrahmanya Mutt seer.

Later the seers of Sode and Subrahmanya Mutts offered prayers at the temple.

Then they went to Sri Chandramouleeshwara Temple and Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple, where they offered prayers.

Later, the Subrahamanya Mutt seer along with the Sode Mutt seer attended a function at Rajangana, where they both felicitated each other, in the presence of other seers.

The seers of other mutts praised both the Subrahmanya Mutt seer and Sode Mutt seer for taking personal interest in resolving the impasse existing between their mutts for the last two and a half centuries.

The Subrahmanya Mutt seer will be visiting the Sri Sonda Kshetra in Uttara Kannada district on May 30, while the Sode Mutt seer will visit the Subrahmanya Kshetra in Dakshina Kannada district on May 31.

There would be “samsthana puje” by the seers in both the places.
