New short-term course at NITK

The National Institute of Technology – Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal, has approved a short-term course on ‘Dynamic Response of Advanced Composites’ as part of Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) programme.

Nikhil Gupta, Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, New York University, Brooklyn, U.S.A. will be the international faculty for the course from December 10 to 14, 2018.

The course will cover topics like dynamic loading conditions, advanced composites, impact on composite structures, composite materials for blast mitigation, interaction of blast with composite materials, vibration response of composite materials, measurement of mechanical properties from vibration response, and high strain rate response of composite materials.

The number of participants will be limited to 50. The last date to apply is October 31, 2018. A demand draft for fees specified must reach Mrityunjay Doddamani, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering, NITK, by post on or before November 16, 2018.
