MozziQuit inventor Ignatius Orwin Naronha was presented the 15th year Pingara Rajyotsava Award here on Tuesday by Mangaluru Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha.

Rev. Saldanha complimented Mr. Noronha for inventing MoziQuit that uses no chemical to eliminate mosquitoes and said it was an environment-friendly measure. Pingara Kannada Weekly has selected the most deserving person for the award, he said.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mr. Noronha thanked the National Institute of Malaria Research for recommending his name for the award. The award was significant for him as it recognises his unrelenting efforts in inventing MozziQuit, a chemical-free device to eliminate mosquitoes.

Pingara editor Raymond D’Cunha, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Dharmadarshi Harikrishna Punaroor, former Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino, Chutuku Sahitya Parishat president Suresh Negalaguli, and others were present.
