Mamatha Poojary, captain of Indian women’s Kabaddi team, tied the nuptial knot with Abhishek Kotian, a software engineer from Bangalore, here on Wednesday.
It was under the captaincy of Ms. Poojary the team won the World Cup in 2012.
Ms. Poojary hails from Hermunde village near Ajekar in Karkala taluk of Udupi district.
Mr. Kotian hails from Udyavara near Udupi.
The wedding ceremony was held at Sheshashayana Hall in Hotel Kediyoor Complex here.
The former Union Minister B. Janardhana Poojary, Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary, Udupi MLA K. Raghupati Bhat, former Minister Vasanth Salian, and the former MLA Sunil Kumar were among those who wished the couple.
