KSRTC urged to accept directorate identity cards

January 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - MANGALURU:

Karnataka Development Programme Review Committee in its monthly meeting here on Monday resolved to write to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation for providing concession in travel fares by accepting the identity cards issued to senior citizens by the Directorate of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens.

A member pointed out that Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation conductors refused to provide concession to fares if senior citizens produced the identity cards issued by the directorate.

They insisted on the identity card issued by the corporation.

The meeting decided that all departments must accept the card issued by the directorate as proof for availing any services of the government.

The bank authorities were asked to look into complaints of some banks denying education loans.
