Khazi supports bandh

The Khazi of Dakshina Kannada Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar has supported the blocking of Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway at Uppinangady on September 15 at 10 a.m.

The activists have proposed to block the highway to press the government to stop the ongoing Yettinahole project.

In a release on Thursday, he said that the government and humans should not destroy environment. “We have to protect and conserve environment and ecology,” he said.

He said that he opposed any project which damaged environment and ecology.

Meanwhile, green activists have organised a power point presentation on ‘Where is 24 tmcft to divert?’ at ICAI office, II foor, Mahindra Arcade, Karangalpady here on September 12 at 6 p.m.

Office-bearers of non-government organisations, clubs, unions, trade and professional associations can participate in it.

It is to apprise them about the project and motivate them to join agitations against the project, according to a release.
