As many as 35 sets of nomination papers have been filed by Independent candidates for the November 12 election to the Mangaluru City Corporation council as the last date for filing nomination papers ended on Thursday.
In all, 236 sets of nomination papers have been filed for the 60 wards (seats). The nomination papers will be scrutinised on November 2 and the last date for withdrawal is November 4.
