The Gandhi Jatha disseminating the message of Mahatma Gandhi entered Udupi on Tuesday.

The Gandhi Jatha, organised by the State government, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi arrived here on Tuesday.

Pradeep Kurdekar, Udupi Tahsildar, welcomed the jatha on behalf of the District Administration at Jodu Katte here. Speaking on the occasion, he said the ideals and message of M.K. Gandhi were eternal. People should follow these ideals, he said.

The jatha comprises of Gandhi’s messages, tableaux related to him. His favourite bhajans were also played. The jatha will leave from Udupi to Brahmavar and from there to Kundapur on Wednesday.
