Fresh landslips on Monday night have further delayed restoration of the Mangaluru-Mumbai railway line near Kulashekara in Mangaluru, thereby forcing the Railways to cancel/divert several long distance trains on Tuesday and Wednesday.

With fresh landslips occurring near Kulashekara on Mangaluru-Mumbai line on Monday night, train services between Kerala and the North continued to remain suspended for the fifth day on Tuesday.

The landslips resulted in the cancellation and diversion of several trains.

The Bengaluru-Karwar overnight express would not run between Mangaluru Central and Karwar till the landslips are cleared and instead, it would be short-terminated at Mangaluru Central.

Train No 16576 Mangaluru Junction-Yeshwantpur Tri-weekly Express of Wednesday has been cancelled from Mangaluru Junction for want of rake.

Train Nos 12619/12620 Mumbai LTT-Mangaluru Central-Mumbai LTT Matsyagandha Express, Train Nos 12133/12134 Mumbai CSMT-Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai CSMT Express and Train Nos 70105/70106 Madgaon-Mangaluru Central-Madgaon DEMU Passenger would be operated out of Surathkal on Wednesday too, said a bulletin from Konkan Railway Corporation here.

The Mangaluru Central-Madgaon-Mangaluru Central Passenger as well as the Intercity Express continue to remain cancelled.

As many as nine trains between the North and Kerala have been cancelled. They are Train No 19260 Bhavnagar-Kochuveli Express; Train No 19332 Indore-Kochuveli Express, Train No 12432 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express, Train No 12283 Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duranto Express, Train No 22149 Ernakulam-Pune Express, Train No 22113 Mumbai LTT-Kochuveli Express and Train No 12223 Mumbai LTT-Ernakulam Duranto Express, all journey commencing on August 27.

Six trains commencing journey on August 28 too have been cancelled. They are Train No 22655 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly Express; Train No 22633 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly Express; Train No 16338 Ernakulam-Okha Express; Train No 12224 Ernakulam-Mumbai LTT Duronto Express; Train No 22630 Tirunelveli-Dadar Express and Train No 22150 Pune-Ernakulam Express, said a communique from Southern Railway.

Train No 19259 Kochuveli-Bhavnagar Weekly Express of August 29; Train No 22150 Ernakulam-Pune Bi-Weekly Express; Train No 19331 Kochuveli-Indore Weekly Express, both of August 30 and Train No 12284 Hazrat Nizamddin-Ernakulam Duranto Express of August 31 too are cancelled.

The other trains running on the network have been diverted on alternative routes via Palakkad.
