The kurta tops with Lucknowi chikan embroidery and the ones with Aari work (a combination of small mirrors and hand embroidery) from Gujarat makes one to look a little longer.

These are among the materials displayed at six-day exhibition of saris, dress material, dupattas, kurtas, and home furnishing on the premises of Moti Mahal Hotel. The exhibition, “Weaves”, is organised for the fourth time in Mangalore. The exhibition began on Thursday and will be on till February 7.

The stall of D' Comforts from Mumbai has different designs of Chudidar sets made of chanderi silk and cotton. These chudidar sets are priced between Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 6,000. Another stall from Mumbai has brought Lehnga sets for girls priced around Rs. 500.

The Lucknow chicken tops are priced between Rs. 750 and Rs. 2,000 while the Aari work chudidar sets cost Rs. 2,000. A stall from Hyderabad has dress material that has exquisite fabric painting. There are 55 stalls at the exhibition representing 14 handloom weaving States. Among the saris displayed include Banarsi saris, Gadwal and Uppada saris from Andhra Pradesh, Bomkai saris from Odisha, Potla saris from Gujarat, and Paithani saris from Maharashtra.
