The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj has selected Dakshina Kannda Zilla Panchayat for the national level Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar 2022, according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the panchayat Kumara.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present the award on the Panchayat Raj Day on April 24.
The award is given to Dakshina Kannada as the best-performing district in recognition of the good work done at each level, and in all parameters, including innovative projects and also for the exemplary performance in 2021-22, Mr. Kumara said in a statement on Sunday.
