June 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - MANGALURU:

The Communist Party of India (Marxists) will stage a protest in front of the Town Hall here on Thursday at 4.30 p.m. against the delay in completing renovation works.

In a release Sunil Kumar Bajal, secretary, Mangaluru city south unit of the party, said that the Town Hall should have celebrated its golden jubilee in last December.

Renovation

The hall has been closed for renovation since September, 2014.

The centre of cultural activities is now, especially in rainy season, not available to the people.

The renovation works have come to a standstill due to lack of planning and differences of opinion among bureaucrats and Congress councillors who are leading the council of Mangaluru City Corporation.

‘Administrative failure’

It reflected the administrative failure of the Congress, he said.

Mr. Kumar said that the corporation should resume renovation works immediately.
