Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan

The All India Radio, Mangaluru, will be holding Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan at the Sudhindra Auditorium, Canara Girls Secondary School, Dongarakery, on October 10.

The programme will start with a Carnatic vocal concert by Palakkad Sriram from Chennai at 6 p.m. This will be followed by Tavil recital by Talachangadu T.M. Ramanathan at 7 p.m., followed by a Mandolin concert by U.P. Raju and U. Nagamani at 7.30 p.m., according to a press release.

Karanth Award

Writer Areya Lakshminarayan Alva will be presented the Karanth Award at a function to be held at SDM College auditorium on the occasion of Shivarama Karanth’s birth anniversary celebration on Saturday. The award will be presented jointly by the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Sahitya Parishad and Kalkura Foundation.

The award was in recognition of the contribution of Mr. Alva to the fields of literature, folk art and cooperation.

Telephone Adalat

The Dakshina Kannada telecom district will be conducting telephone adalat in November for the customers from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

‘Suvarna Sandhya’

The St. Aloysius Evening College will be bringing out souvenir ‘Suvarna Sandhya’ on the occasion of its Golden jubilee celebration.
