Workshop on HIV

The Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. conducted a one-day workshop on ‘HIV and De-addiction’ on Thursday at the Surathkal Railway Station in coordination with Father Muller’s Medical College, Mangaluru. Drivers of autorickshaws, taxis and trucks on RO-RO service of KRCL attended the workshop along with staff of KRCL, said a release. Sourabh Kumar and Sudheer Prabhu, assistant professors, community medicine from Fr. Muller’s and Sanjay, medical officer, KRCL, Udupi, conducted the workshop. About 50 participants attended the workshop.

Saplings for horticulture crops like coca, pepper, cashew, areca etc., are available at horticulture farms of the Department of Horticulture in the district. World Yoga Day

at Alva’s

Students of various educational institutions of Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, are all set to participate in the World Yoga Day on June 21 from 7 am to 7.45 am. Over 2,500 students, including 1,500 from Alva’s High School, 1,048 from NCC, Moodabidri and one hundred from Alva’s Yoga and Naturopathy College, would perform different Yogasanas at the Nudisiri auditorium, according to a release from Mohan Alva.
