Online admission for ITI courses

The government has notified the commencement of the online admission process to courses in government and grant-in aid industrial training institutes in the State. Interested candidates may apply for courses available in any institute from any part of the State throughwww.emptrg.kar.nic.inorwww.det-kar.com/admission-2015before June 5. For details, contact Government ITI, Kadri Hills, Mangaluru. The institute would facilitate free filing of online application forms.

Diploma in

textile technology

The Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute, Gadag, will offer a diploma in handloom and textile technology with 42 seats. Those who have passed SSLC with English as a subject are eligible to apply. MCC permission must for sinking wells

The Mangaluru City Corporation has said that its permission is mandatory to sink open or bore wells in its jurisdiction. Permission would not be granted to sink wells within 500 m radius of public sources of drinking water, said the Corporation Commissioner in a release. A written application has to be submitted a fortnight before the actual date of sinking of the well.

Sadananda Gowda

visiting the region

Union Minister for Law and Justice D.V. Sadananda Gowda would be visiting Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Friday. Arriving at Mangaluru International Airport at 8.15 am, he would participate in local programmes at Moodbidri at 9.30 am; Karkala at 11 am and Brahmavara at 4 pm. He would leave for Bengaluru at 8.40 pm from the airport, an official release here said.
