Action threatened

Dakshina Kannada Regional Transport Authority has threatened of action against autorickshaw drivers, who have been collecting fares more than the ones fixed by the Kannada Regional Transport Authority.

In a press release, the Kannada Regional Transport Authority has clarified that there has not been any change in the order that was passed on January 12 revising the autorickshaw fares. The drivers have been asked to collect the charges fixed by the Kannada Regional Transport Authority and if they fail to do, action will be taken Wednesday.

Hearing on Feb. 10

Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission will be hearing on February 10 the applications filed opposing the hike in the electricity charges. It will also be hearing an application regarding the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited at 11 a.m. and those related to Mangalore Special Economic Zone at 3 p.m. The hearing will be held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, according to a press release.

Meeting from Thursday

The 36{+t}{+h}meeting of the Plan Tissue Culture Association of India will be held at St. Aloysius College between January 29 and 31.

It will also be holding symposium on “Biotechnoloyg and molecular biology for industry and common man”. The symposium scientists, academics, industrialists and students will be presenting research they have done in the field of tissue culture, biotechnology and molecular biology.
