Areas close to Wenlock Hospital cleaned

In their series of Sunday cleanliness drives in the city, volunteers under the auspices of Ramakrishna Mission cleaned the area near Government Wenlock Hospital and Milagres Church here on the 15th Sunday.

Garbage in and around the hospital was cleared and even the old bus stand near the church was cleaned and painted.

The road divider near Hotel Taj Mahal was cleaned, painted and several posters with messages about Swachh Bharat were pasted to create awareness among people.

The road direction boards were painted for the benefit of the public.

A team of volunteers erected cement platforms around some trees near the Deputy Commissioner’s office, to help people sit there.

Volunteers of the National Service Scheme, employees of HDFC bank and well-wishers of the Ramakrishna Mutt took part in it, a release said.
