A 21-year-old woman has filed a complaint before the Woman Police Station accusing an advocate of sexual harassment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya said that the woman had approached advocate Mohammed Ismail to fight her divorce case, seeking ₹ 3 lakh alimony.

Following her divorce, the advocate sexually assaulted the woman several times after promising to marry her.

The woman has alleged in the complaint that a few days ago she went to the office of Mr. Ismail in a complex near Rao and Rao Circle where she found him with another woman. She raised the issue before the local jamat and filed the complaint, Mr. Hanumantharaya said.

The Woman Police Station registered her complaint on July 21 under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. The police are on the look-out for Ismail, who is reportedly at large, Mr. Hanumantharaya said.
