Dhanush Krishna took serious note of the suggestion he got from his coaching centre and opted to do senior secondary at the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). This helped him concentrate on preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination.
With a JEE (Advanced) ranking of 313, Dhanush is hopeful of pursuing a basic sciences course at an IIT.
NIOS option
After passing class 10 from Presidency School, Dhanush joined the Centre for Advance Learning in Mangaluru and prepared for the exams. He secured 93.4 per cent marks in the NIOS Board examination.
Severine Rosario of CFAL said the institute has been encouraging students to do their senior secondary at NIOS. “In the North, there are colleges that grant attendance to students preparing for IIT, which is illegal. Choosing the NIOS route is far better,” Ms. Rosario says.
