Addressing presspersons here on Monday N.S. Kumar, Chairman, Made in Coimbatore Industrial Expo 2009, said 200 industries from Coimbatore would set up stalls at the venue. In addition, 150 industries from Karnataka would display their products. He said Coimbatore had 50,000 micro and small industries. Seven seminars would be organised during the exhibition of which three were aimed at motivating budding entrepreneurs and the remaining for established entrepreneurs.

He said the exhibition provided an opportunity for people to know about certain machines that were not being manufactured in Mangalore. Some of them included paper bag and paper cup manufacturing equipment, those producing welding machines, cooling towers and pumpsets. He said the Entrepreneurs’ Club, Coimbatore, and the Coimbatore North Small Industries Association would organise the exhibition in association with the Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA), Mangalore. This would be the second edition of the “Made in Coimbatore” Industrial Expo, he added.

K. Jayaraj Pai, president, KSIA, said an Entrepreneurs’ Club would be formed in Mangalore on Tuesday.
