98 Olive Ridley hatchlings reach the sea

As many as 98 Olive Ridley Turtle hatchlings safely reached the Arabian Sea between Monday night and early Tuesday at Kodi in Kundapur of Udupi district.

According to a statement from FSL India, an NGO involved in the protection of Olive Ridley Turtles and their eggs, the hatchlings came out of Nest No 7 near the Sea Walk at Kodi.

Officials from the Forest Department, local fishermen, volunteers of FSL and others actively ensured the safe passage of the hatchlings from the nest to the sea, said Dinesh Sarang of FSL India.
