As many as 675 students received their certificates at the fifth Graduation Day of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru, on Saturday. The students included M.Tech, MCA and BE graduates of 2013-14 batch and BE graduates of 2014-15 batch.

Presenting the certificates, Rekha Mathews, Head-India Campus Relationships, UST Global, said that the day was the culmination of 16 years of hard work and termed the graduates ‘Young Super Heroes’. She urged the students to be thankful to their parents, teachers as well as to society, who were behind their success.

The three ‘I’s of success: insight, to know one’s purpose; inspiration, to work with passion and integrity, have been the important factors in one’s life, she said. Though the initial years after graduation are for further learning, one has to learn continuously to be successful in life. Presiding over the ceremony, Bhandary Foundation Chairman Manjunath Bhandary said that the graduates have almost become independent from the graduation day onwards. He said that in life, one had to take mistakes, failures and rejections positively and learn lessons from them.

In fact, the word fail denotes ‘first attempt in learning,’ he said. Mr. Bhandary also urged the students to become the band ambassadors of the college. College principal Umesh M. Bhushi, Director-Research C. Ranganathaiah and others were present.
