Kuppa Venkateshwara Prasada Sharma was anointed the 37th Peethadhipati of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetam, Sringeri, on Friday morning by the senior Seer, Sri Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswami .
The junior seer was given the Sanyasa Deeksha at around 8.30 a.m. and was later given the name Vidhushekhara Bharathi at a special ceremony between 10 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.
In the evening, there will be a public function where both the seers will address the devotees followed by Adda Pallakki procession. The function will be attended by a host if dignitaries, including people’s representatives.
