The Corporation has developed a mobile app for registering residents’ grievances and getting them redressed or giving the appropriate reply to the complainant within a stipulated period by the officials concerned.

The App, Tirunelveli Corporation or Tirunelveli Municipal Corp, can be downloaded from Google Play Store by Wednesday evening or latest by this weekend in case of any unexpected technical glitches.

Explaining the salient features of this App, Azeez of Codegenie Solutions, which has developed the App, said complaints can be registered through this App by selecting the street / area / ward.

Five photos explaining the problem can be attached with the complaint and get it resolved at the earliest by the officials concerned, who will also provide an appropriate reply in case it cannot be resolved immediately due to some other reasons associated with the problem raised by the resident.

“Once the complaint is registered in the App, the councilor concerned will get an alert through this App and further process of taking up the issue with the officials will be done automatically. If there is an immediate solution for the problem raised by the resident, it will be executed to sort out the issue and it will be intimated to the complainant. If there is no immediate solution to the problem raised by the resident, the reason behind the delay in providing the solution and action to be taken in due course will be intimated to the complainant,” Mr. Azeez said.

If the complaint is not attended even after the deadline given by the officials, the complaint will be taken up with the Commissioner automatically, who will monitor the disposal of the complaint within the next few days.

If the complaint raised by the resident is impractical, it will be rejected and it will be intimated to the complainant also with the reason behind rejecting it.

“This App will be a boon to the residents. Since most of us are using Android phones and have downloaded several Apps, we’ve introduced this App for the benefit of our residents by expediting the action by the Corporation officials. We’ll constantly monitor the performance of this App and review it periodically to upgrade it,” said P.M. Saravanan, Mayor.
