Youth hacked to death

A youth was hacked to death on Monday evening following a property dispute with his relatives.

 Police said Muthumalai, 39, of Naduvaikurichi, who was working in the office of an advocate for a few years, had prolonged dispute with his relatives over apportioning the ancestral properties. When Muthumalai was standing near the ration shop at Naduvaikurichi on Monday evening, his cousins Subramanian of nearby Thiruththu and Murugan of Naduvaikurichi allegedly hacked him to death.

 After committing the crime, the duo surrendered before Palayamkottai Taluk police, who rushed to the spot and sent the body to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem.

 Further investigations are on.
