Southern Railway has proposed to run Tambaram-Nagercoil weekly superfast special train and Tirunelveli-Tambaram weekly special train (via Tenkasi) for the convenience of passengers during summer holidays.
Tambaram - Nagercoil weekly superfast special train (06005) will leave Tambaram on Fridays from April 22 to June 24 at 7.30 p.m. and reach Nagercoil at 7 a.m. the next day.
In the return direction, Nagercoil-Tambaram weekly super fast special train (06006) will leave Nagercoil on Sundays from April 24 to June 26 at 4.15 p.m. and reach Tambaram at 4.10 a.m. the next day, a railway statement said.
These trains will halt at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli and Valliyur. The composition of the trains would be one AC two-tier coach, 2 AC three-tier coaches, 13 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second class coaches and 2 guard-cum-differently-abled-friendly coaches.
Tirunelveli-Tambaram weekly special train (06004) via Tenkasi will leave Tirunelveli on Sundays from April 17 to June 26 at 7 p.m. and reach Tambaram at 9.20 a.m. the next day.
In the return direction, Tambaram-Tirunelveli weekly special train (06003) via Tenkasi will leave Tambaram on Tuesdays from April 18 to June 20 at 10.20 p.m. and reach Madurai at 6/35 a.m. and Tirunelveil at 10.35 a.m. the next day.
These trains will halt at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Tenkasi, Pavurchatram, Kilakadayam, Ambasamudram and Cheranmahadevi. The composition of the trains would be one AC two-tier coach, 2 AC three-tier coaches, 7 sleeper class coaches, 3 general second class coaches and 2 guard-cum-differently-abled-friendly coaches, the statement said.
