Soon, you can apply online for police verification

It can be self, job, tenant or domestic help verification for a fee of ₹500

MADURAI

Tamil Nadu police will soon launch police verification services that will help citizens and private companies to make online application seeking verification of tenants and domestic helps.

People can submit their online applications on Tamil Nadu Police website www.eservices.tnpolice.gov.in

A circular from the office of the Director General of Police, dated December 3, said individuals seeking verification – self verification, job verification, tenant verification and domestic help verification – need to pay a fixed charge of ₹500.

The fee for private companies and institutions would be ₹1,000 per application. The police would verify the identity of the person, his/her current address and verify whether he or she was involved in any criminal cases as per police records, it said.

The Assistant Commissioner of Intelligence Section had been designated as the approving authority for police verification in Chennai City. The Deputy Superintendent of Police/ Assistant Commissioner of Police District Crime Records Bureaux had been designated as approving authority in all other districts and cities, the circular said.

It stipulated 15 days for completion of police verification from the date of receipt of the application. “We need to impart training to field officers before this facility is launched,” a police officer said.
