Urging the Tamil Nadu government to revive the old pension scheme as promised by the DMK in its manifesto for the Assembly election held in last May, the government employees staged a demonstration here on Wednesday.

Raising slogans against the delay in reviving the old pension scheme, the employees condemned the government for delaying it as promised.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin should announce in the Assembly during the current session to fulfil the promise he had given, they said. They also demanded steps to fill up vacancies in various departments.

Similar agitation was organised in front of the Office of Department of Highways and at Ambasamudram in the district.
