Reading habit stressed

Students must read a lot of books to improve their knowledge since only strenuous efforts can take one to greater heights in life, according to G. Gnanasambandan, emeritus professor of Tamil, Thiagarajar College.

Delivering the A.T.N. Nagalingam and Soundaravalli Ammal Endowment Lecture on the topic, ‘Sigaram thodu,’ at Yadava College here recently, he referred to the success stories of Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Alva Edison, Marie Curie, Mother Teresa, Madan Mohan Malaviya and Leonardo Da Vinci who achieved success through determination.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college organised the lecture.
