Madras High Court Judges K.K. Sasidharan and R. Tharani participated in the Pongal celebration held at the District Court Complex here on Wednesday. District judges, advocates and court staff participated in the event.

The day-long event saw cultural performances that included traditional music and dance programmes. The women advocates attached to the District Court prepared ‘pongal’ as part of the event. The High Court Judges partook of the traditional lunch in the afternoon.

Following the traditional lunch, the judges visited the newly inaugurated canteen on the campus and checked the quality of the food prepared there. The High Court Bench had recently allowed operation of the canteen following a request from the District Court advocates.

The Pongal celebration concluded after a debate session held in the evening.
