September 16, 2011 09:15 am | Updated 09:15 am IST - MADURAI:

Former Transport Minister K.N. Nehru, Tiruchi Deputy Mayor M. Anbalagan and few other Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam men, including Kudamuruti Sekar, Salai Sherif and Ramajeyam, who were arrested on August 25 in connection with a land grab case, have filed individual bail applications in the Madras High Court Bench here.

Bench moved

They moved the Bench after the Principal Sessions Court in Tiruchi on Tuesday refused to enlarge them on bail.

According to the petitioners, the complainant K. Srinivasan, a doctor by profession, had lodged the complaint owing to political pressure. They pointed out that the complainant had taken four years to lodge a complaint relating to the incident that allegedly took place in 2006. The complaint relates to the land used for constructing the DMK office near Chathiram bus stand in Tiruchi.
