The Madras High Court Bench here on Thursday quashed a First Information Report (FIR) registered against granite baron P.R. Palanisamy's son P. Suresh Kumar in a land grab case after it was reported that the issue had been amicably settled between the parties after the complainant was paid his share of Rs. 4 lakh towards sale consideration.

The case initially registered by the Othakadai police station and thereafter closed by terming it as a ‘mistake of fact' was reopened recently and transferred to the District Crime Branch police.

It related to purchase of a property situated at Poolampatti village near Thamaraipatti in the name of P.R.P. Granites.

V. Rajan, one of the legal heirs of the original owner, had lodged the complaint.
