The Tamil Nadu government’s Integrated Financial and Human Resource Management System (IFHRMS), the new software targeted for launch in November 2018, will considerably improve the efficiency and reduce the workload in the Treasuries and Accounts department, said Tenkasi S Jawahar, Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Treasuries and Accounts.

Speaking at the sensitisation conference organised here on Friday, he termed IFHRMS as a ‘unique’ and ‘path-breaking’ system that is being built with three leading companies in the Information Technology at a cost of ₹ 288.91 crore to streamline treasury operations.

He said that the the system will not only enable Commissionerate of Treasuries and Accounts to go paperless, but also enable about 29,000 Drawing and Disbursing Officers of various departments to submit bills to the Treasury department online and track them in real time. “While bills are settled now in six to seven days time, the new system will make it possible to settle bills on same day,” he said.

He said that the Service Registers (SRs) of all the government employees will be digitised as e-SRs in IFHRMS.

Elaborating on the various benefits of the system, Mr. Jawahar said that adequate training for all the relevant staff has been planned on the use of IFHRMS.

Senior officials from various departments in the district took part in the conference.
