Exam for lab assistants conducted

Examinations for the posts of Medical Practitioners, conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), and for the posts of Lab Assistants in government schools, conducted by the School Education Department, were held in the city on Sunday.

Of the 30,002 candidates who had registered to write the examination for the posts of Lab Assistants, 5,031 did not take the exam, which was conducted at 84 centres across the city.

Of the 1,305 candidates who had registered to write the exam for the posts of Medical Practitioners of Siddha and Unani branches, 1,100 sat for the exam conducted at Wakf Board College. The exams began at 10.30 a.m. at all the centres amidst police security. Flying squads, headed by revenue officials, were checking for malpractice.

Collector L. Subramanian, accompanied by Chief Educational Officer Angelo Irudhayasamy, inspected the examination centres at Wakf Board College, Arulmalar Girls’ Higher Secondary School and Elango Government Higher Secondary School.
