Madras High Court Chief Justice Indira Banerjee will preside over the court proceedings at the Madurai Bench on Thursday. A division bench of Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Nisha Banu will preside over the proceedings at Court Hall No 1.

Chief Justice Indira Banerjee will inaugurate the State-level Moot Court Competition organised by the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court Bar Association (MMBA) in association with Senior Advocate N. Natarajan Charitable Trust. The moot court competition will be held at Pillar Campus at Nagamalai from April 6 to 8. A total of 18 law colleges will participate in the competition.

“The moot court proposition has been designed to foster a great understanding of criminal law among law students, with an added importance to emerging issues under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 in India,” said K. Samidurai, president of MMBA, in a press statement.
