AUT's recruitment drive for MBA students

A recruitment drive for the MBA students of engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Madurai is underway at the varsity campus on Alagarkoil Road here.

The Career Guidance Cell of the university is organising this recruitment drive on May 12 and 13 to select qualified hands for a Chennai-headquartered travel advisory company, Talent Epicentre, which is looking at recruiting 200 candidates.

On Saturday, the company's top brass led by J. Thangaraj, Co-founder and Principal Consultant of Talent Epicentre, conducted the selection tests including group discussion and personal interviews. The company is recruiting candidates for two posts – travel advisor and customer service executive.

“Communication skills and self-confidence are important. Salary offered will be in the range of Rs.15, 000 to Rs. 22,000 per month depending on the qualification and other skills,” Mr. Thangaraj said. Talent Epicentre also has offices at Bangalore and Mumbai. C. Swarnalatha, Director, Career Guidance Cell, Anna University of Technology Madurai, said that MBA students of affiliated engineering colleges who have graduated in 2011 or those about to complete this year with maximum two arrears are eligible to attend this drive.

Also, as per the suggestion of Vice-Chancellor R. Murugesan and Registrar E. B. Perumal Pillai, the university's Career Guidance Cell has given opportunity to the MBA students of arts and science colleges and they too are attending the selection process, she said.

Dr. Swarnalatha informed that already 140 candidates have registered for this recruitment drive which will be held on Sunday also.

On May 19 and 20, another round of recruitment drive will be held in the university campus for B.E. students of all branches who are from affiliated engineering colleges.
