Villagers nab

chain-snatcher

Villagers of Anaikulam chased a robber, K. Rajan (52), and caught him when he tried to flee after snatching a two-sovereign chain from a woman in the small hours of Sunday.

Police said that Rajan of Bethaniapuram had gained entry into the house of R. Muthu Hema through the rear door that was left unlocked around 3 a.m. He snatched the chain and took to his heels.

However, after Hema raised an alarm, local people gave a chase and nabbed the chain-snatcher. He was handed over to Sholavandan police.
