40 kg ganja seized; five persons arrested

Dindigul Taluk police seized 40 kg of ganja and arrested five persons in this connection on Saturday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police personnel, led by Inspector of Police Ramachandran, intercepted a gang moving suspiciously on Palani By-pass.

When the gang members tried to flee, the police chased them and nabbed them with the narcotics substance found in a bag. The apprehended persons were identified as Bharathi (35) of Madharai, Selvakumar (32), Pudhuraja (36), both from Usilampatti, Kasi (45) of Kalappanpatti and Amulraj (37) of Kaladipatti.
