23,370 to take TET in Madurai

A total of 23,370 candidates are expected to sit for the Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) in Madurai district on June 8 and June 9.

The State-wide examination will be conducted in two parts - Paper I, for those aspiring to teach Class 1 to Class 5, and Paper II, for Class 6 to Class 8. A statement from the district administration said 7,378 candidates had applied for the Paper 1 examination on June 8, and 15,992 candidates for Paper II on June 9.

The Paper 1 examination would be conducted in 19 centres, and Paper II in 40 centres. The applicants include 330 physically challenged candidates.

Each examination centre would have one Chief Superintendent, Additional Superintendent, Departmental Officer, and Additional Departmental Officer. A total of 1,486 hall supervisors and 300 personnel for flying squads would be deployed. Police personnel would frisk candidates entering the examination hall.
