June 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - MADURAI:

The Narcotics Intelligence Bureau police arrested four persons, seized 120 kg of ganja and impounded the car in which they were travelling at Othakadai near here on Saturday.

Following a specific input, a team intercepted the vehicle and on a check, it found a number of packets containing the contraband.

Discreet probe suggested that the four-member gang had received the ganja from their ‘network’ in Andhra Pradesh.

It was intended for sale in and around the city here through agents.

The arrested were Manoharan (29) of Anaiyur, Devaraj (26) of Narimedu, Pitchaipandi (24) of S. Alangulam and Jagan of Mandapam in Ramanathapuram district.

The police officers said that the gang had operated for quite a long time and further investigation was on. — Special Correspondent
