Youth stabbed at district hospital

A 37-year-old man was stabbed on Monday morning when he came to the Aluva District Hospital for treatment.

Sarish, a resident of Edayappuram, was allegedly attacked by Saiju Thankappan, 32, who is also a resident in the area. The accused, an inpatient at the hospital here, fled soon after the incident. According to the police, an altercation broke out between them the previous night when Sarish and his friends allegedly beat up Saiju. Saiju had sought treatment after the incident on Sunday.

When Sarish turned up at the hospital at 9.30 a.m on Monday, the accused came running with a knife and stabbed him. Sarish was admitted to the Kalamassery Medical college and his condition is stated to be out of danger. The Aluva East Police lodged a case.
