Women directors’ day at short film fete

January 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 09:58 am IST - Kochi:

Some 13 women filmmakers will have their short feature films screened at the ongoing Kochi Metro Malayalam Short Film Festival at a mall near Vyttila on Thursday.

The films – a majority of them on social issues like indifference to the aged, issues resulting from fear of child abuse in the minds of parents with young children, environmental concerns, sexual violence, loss of love in modern life, misuse of mobile phones – showcase women’s concerns from their own perspectives. Six of these movies are screened in the competition category, festival director actor Raveendran said.
