Vaduthala boat race has a close finish

Thaniyan of Thanthonnithuruthu Boat club won the first prize in the V.C. Chanchan memorial Korumkotte-Vaduthala boat race held on Sunday. Valiya Pandithan of Rudramala Boat Club came second in the category.

In the Grade B category, Sree Murugan of Thanthonnithuruthu Boat Club and Hanuman 2 of Muttinakam Boat Club were declared joint winners. A.K. Dinakaran, president of the Mulavukad Panchayat, presented the prizes.

Earlier, MLA Hibi Eden inaugurated the boat race. District collector Sheik Pareeth flagged off the race. E.M. Sunilklumar, P. Raju and A.N. Radhakrishnan were among those who attended.
