The Central Police on Thursday arrested two persons who were allegedly found in possession of 3.72 kg of ganja from near the boat jetty.

The arrested were identified as Rashid Ali, 22, and Sohan, 22, both from Kozhikode.

According to the police, they used to source ganja from Salem in Tamil Nadu at the rate of ₹8,000 per kg and then sell it to students and youngsters for a huge margin.

The arrest was made as part of the searches being conducted by the Central Police under Operation King Cobra ordered by S. Surendran, District Police Chief (Kochi City).

A team led by Inspector V.S. Navas, sub inspectors Sajan and Babu, assistant sub inspector Arul, senior civil police officer Pradeep, and civil police officers Ranjith and Muhammed Ishak made the arrest.

The Central Police had seized 12 kg of ganja last week.
