Two held on charge of pickpocketing

The North police on Wednesday arrested two persons accused of pickpocketing on buses.

The arrested were identified as Melby aka Varghese of Eda Kochi and Vibin of Palluruthy. They were arrested while fleeing after allegedly making away with the mobile phone and wallet of a passenger at Lisie Junction.

According to the police, both were accused in various theft and NDPS cases within various police station limits. A team led by Sibi Tom, Inspector, and Rajan Babu, Sub Inspector, made the arrest during the course of a checking conducted following increasing incidents of pickpocketing in buses.
