Traco Cable gets new machinery

It will be deployed in raising production from 4,500 tonnes to 6,000 tonnes

A.C. Moideen, Minister for Industries, will inaugurate the new machinery at the public sector Traco Cable at Irumpanam, here on Friday.

Innocent, MP; Anoop Jacob, M. Swaraj and V. P. Sajeendran, MLAs, will be present, said Santhosh Koshy Thomas, managing director of Traco Cable, at a press conference here.

He said the new machinery would be deployed in raising production from 4,500 tonnes to 6,000 tonnes. The company expected a total turnover of ₹180 crore during the current financial year against last year’s level of ₹125 crore. The company would utilise about ₹6 crore for the expansion programme. Traco Cable was established in 1964 and has units also at Pinarayi and Thiruvalla.

Mr. Koshy Thomas had earlier said that the company had received ₹5 crore worth of orders from Punjab and that it was a good sign for the company, which was slowly making its presence felt in the market in a big way.

The company’s range of products includes house wiring cables, control cables, and building wires.
