The Mulavukad police have arrested three persons who allegedly harassed a man and a woman and robbed them of their money under the influence of alcohol at Puthuvypeen on Sunday.

The first two accused, Salam, 35, of Azhikode in Thrissur, and Bibin Babu, 32, of South Malippuram in Vypeen, were arrested on Sunday. The third accused, Abbas, 39, of Kurumanad in Puthvypeen, who had been absconding since then, was arrested from Thripunithura on Tuesday.

“The woman and her relative, who had gone to see the lighthouse at Puthuvypeen, were sitting in their car on Sunday afternoon, when the three accused, in an inebriated state, reached the spot on a motorcycle. They started harassing and threatening the duo and even tried to grab the woman besides forcibly taking a ₹500-note from the man’s pocket,” said H. Muhammed Khan, Inspector of Police, Mulavukad.
