The Thakazhi Memorial Award for 2021 was presented to writer and literary critic M. Leelavathi here on Monday by G. Sudhakaran, former Minister and chairman of the Thakazhi Memorial Samiti. The award comprises a purse of ₹50,000 and a citation. The award is given in recognition of contributions to Malayalam language and literature. The award was presented to Dr. Leelavathi at her residence in Thrikkakara. Though the award was to be presented at Thakazhi on April 17, Dr. Leelavathi could not reach the venue.
